AR glasses create 3D experience directly from smartphones
Spotted: China-based Rokid is developing augmented reality (AR) glasses with the computing power to generate immersion experiences from a smartphone. The glasses can generate a virtual desktop to work from or an active 3D experience for gaming.
Rokid Vision glasses are different from other models on the market because they include some processing power. It means wearers can plug the glasses into any device with a Type C port, like smartphones and tablets.
Rokid promises the glasses will provide immersive sound, be lightweight and be affordable. A companion app is also planned that would allow give the wearer the potential to turn their smartphone into a remote for an AR TV. The glasses will be commercially available in 2020.
