Foodtech startup provides healthy meals to corporate employees

Spotted: Delhi-based food-tech startup, Daalchini, is a “phygital” (physical and digital) vending machine company designed to provide home-cooked meals to corporate employees. Founded by Prerna Kalra and Vidya Bhushan, it currently has 70 kiosks across the Delhi-NCR region and serves 3,000 meals a day.

Daalchini caters to over 40 companies including Paytm, Snapdeal, OYO, and Ernst & Young. The startup has also received a recent investment from Artha Venture Fund and plans to use the money to expand its product range.

The company motto is: ‘Home-style Indian Food accessible anytime, anywhere’. The food can be ordered via the Daalchini app or directly at one of the kiosks. The vending machines also have a microwave to reheat the food. The food is made daily by people in the comfort of their homes. This allows fresh food to be delivered to the Kiosk every day and to provide a changing menu.
