On 2 October 2018, the first of a series of Springwise Sessions was launched at The Club at The Ivy in London. Bringing together high profile guests from government, and business, we explored a fascinating discussion on ‘Navigating the disruption economy‘ with Dr. Rannia Leontaridi OBE (Co-Director at the Office for Artificial Intelligence, HM Government), Peter Williams (Chairman at Boohoo), Oliver May (Co-founder and CCO at Streetbees) and moderated by Sophie Albizua (co-founder at Re_Set).
Four standout takeaways to help you find your way in the exponential economy:
1. The feeling was positive. AI and robotics will be a huge force in the future and if used wisely should help us make better decisions and revolutionise the workplace.
2. Education and ethics are key. We are at a critical point where governments must act to set the foundations (education and skills) and create the ethical boundaries for AI so that society thrives in the age of AI.
3. Culture is at the heart of success. To navigate the era of disruption, businesses must embrace a culture of innovation allowing for creative solutions to surge from the bottom-up.
4. Growth is linked to wellbeing in the workplace. Millennials are contributing to the adoption of a new mode of working which embraces efficiency and a better work-life balance. The wellness trends are expected to disrupt the workplace and have a wider impact on traditional industries.
